On the right, my 1949 Studebaker 3/4-ton pick-up truck. Without it, trips to the lumber yard would be much more troublesome. "That's my story and I'm sticking to it."
I like to think the Studebaker fares pretty well when compared to others, including at this show I managed to drive to in Cedar Rapids.
When son number four was on the way, it became necessary to expand the house. Fortunately, the eldest two sons were willing to help.
After a garage fire left nothing, we rebuilt from the foundation all the way up to a standing-seam metal roof.
I needed three, and sometimes all four, of the sons’ help to finish the roof before a Wisconsin winter struck.
When I'm lucky, one of my sons will treat me to a baseball game. In a role reversal from their childhoods, they score the game and I ask about the players.
Don't be fooled. It is the five-year-old who runs the show, no matter the occasion, and I know it.
I addressed the La Crosse Area Development Corporation Economic Forum last March opposing a City Administrator and supporting an “elected” Mayor.
